Awards during my Intel years:

After years of working for organizations/corporations I started freelancing

again in 2009

From 1999-2009 I worked as a German linguist at Intel’s localization department, was soon promoted to “Language Lead”, and in charge of “everything that had to do with German”.

Additional roles:

* Freelancer and vendor manager, in charge of finding the right linguists for 37 languages, monitoring their performance, and being their main point of contact.

* Project coordinator. Managing large localization projects with up to 26 languages. This role included finding the right team, doing file inspections, taking care of the translation, providing tool training, and using source control. I worked with TMS, but also VSS, and internal tools.

In the years before I worked as a contractor in Africa. I mainly worked for government organizations and UN offices, translating material into German, but I also provided classroom training for Windows which was totally new back then.

I worked in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the US, all totally different environments. Some had a lot to offer, others asked for nothing but improvisation. Through this I learned to be flexible, innovative, creative, and easy to work with.
